Run in the cool morning

Table Mountain contour run

The Table Mountain contour run is a perfect scenic outing as its traverses the lower slopes of Table Mountain boasting exceptional views of the city. A short and steep path will take us to the start of the trail. The route is on a fairly flat single trail with rocky sections, firm underfoot make it for an easy run with plenty chances to enjoy the views. By mid-distance a kick up will take us to the middle contour toward Devil's saddle. Once reaching the saddle the path start to zigzag down for a while till it level off at about 580 metres, crossing some nice rock shelves and taking in the summit of Oppelskop before turning back to our departure point on the lower traverse.  If you were to follow the Contour Path to its natural conclusion, it would lead you all the way around Table Mountain to Constantia Nek..We won’t do it today as this may take us several hours!

Yoga and Trail Running

Yoga and running lie on opposite ends of the exercise spectrum but they actually combine strength and flexibility.

Strength and flexibility

If your body is off-balance it can often lead to repetitive strain injuries. Tight muscles tend to get tighter and compensating weak muscles weaker. Yoga can work specifically at balancing strength in the muscles that support and stabilise the skeleton system.
